Ladkah Markha Valley

Located on the very North of Himalaya within the state of Jammu & Kashmir in Northern India, the only Buddhist province after Sikkim surrounded by Muslim and Hindu religious sects, and close to the border of Pakistan, bounded by world’s two mightiest mountain ranges, the Great Himalaya and the Karakoram, the Ladakh and the Zanskar range.

Markha Valley in Ladakh a complete wilderness in remote area with high-altitude terrain makes the adventure destinations for travelers. As the border lies close to South West of Tibet and North of Ladakh and its an extension of Tibetan plateau and with strong Tibetan influence as well, with its ancient traditions and lifestyles remain firmly deep-rooted and untouched by outside world.

Ladakh at an altitude ranging from 2750 meters at Kargil to 7,672 meters at Saser Kangri in the Karakoram mountain range. The summer temperatures rarely exceed 27 degree Celsius in the shade, while in winter down below -20 degree Celsius including the capital and the main city Leh. However, the thin air makes carried the heat of the sun even more strong than at lower altitudes.

The beautiful valley of Markha is in the shadow of range of spectacular mountains which is close to Stok Kangri 6,123 meters and notably Kang Yatse 6,400 meters among others. The walk follows crossing the Kongmaru La 5,150 meters, the highest pass on this trek, the trail passes through Hemis National Park, established to preserve the endangered snow leopard and other wildlife, and the journey finally reaches to Hemis with famous monastery of Ladakh, and then ending the trek here with an interesting drive back Leh for the flight to Delhi after an enjoyable and fascinating time in Ladakh Markha valley.

Day 06: Trek to Skiu -06 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Markha valley – 07 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Tahungtse 5-6 hours.
Day 09: Trek to Nimaling -05 hours.
Day 10: Rest day in Nimaling.
Day 11: Trek to Shang Sumdo via Kongmaru-La – 07 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Martselang or Hemis and drive to Leh – 06 hrs.
Day 13: Free day in Leh.
Day 14: Fly from Leh to Delhi.
